Peter Stickles made his acting debut in the 2000 action thriller film ‘Shaft’. Directed by John Singleton, the film was very successful at the box office. However, reviews were mostly mixed. The same year, he was also seen in the TV series ‘Strangers with Candy’, in a guest role. He next appeared in the movies ‘Personal Sergeant’ and ‘Dead Serious’, in 2004 and 2005.

In 2006, he appeared in the erotic comedy drama film ‘Shortbus’, playing a supporting role. Directed by John Cameron Mitchell, the film received mixed to positive reviews. It was also a box-office success, earning over $ 5 million on a $ 2 million budget. The same year, he was seen in the horror film ‘Cemetery Gates’ as well. The film received negative reviews.

In 2007, he was seen in the horror film ‘The Girl Next Door’. Loosely based on true events, the film was directed by Gregory M Wilson, and was based on a novel of the same name by Jack Ketchum. She comes back years later into the spotlight but encounters new threats to her life and career. The film was met with mostly negative reviews, and has also been described as boring and predictable. It was made on a small budget of $100,000.
