Peter Stickles is an American actor. He is known for his roles in the comedy film ‘Shortbus’, and in the TV series ‘The Lair’. Stickles was born in Oswego, in New York. He made his film debut in a minor role in the 2000 action thriller film ‘Shaft’. He became known for his role in the erotic comedy drama film ‘Shortbus’. He also gained popularity for playing the lead role of Damian Courtenay in the vampire TV series ‘The Lair’. It had aired for three seasons between 2007 and 2009. His most recent work is the television thriller film ‘Stage Fright’, which released in 2017.

Career
Peter Stickles made his acting debut in the 2000 action thriller film ‘Shaft’. Directed by John Singleton, the film was very successful at the box office. However, reviews were mostly mixed. The same year, he was also seen in the TV series ‘Strangers with Candy’, in a guest role. He next appeared in the movies ‘Personal Sergeant’ and ‘Dead Serious’, in 2004 and 2005.
In 2006, he appeared in the erotic comedy drama film ‘Shortbus’, playing a supporting role. Directed by John Cameron Mitchell, the film received mixed to positive reviews. It was also a box-office success, earning over $ 5 million on a $ 2 million budget. The same year, he was seen in the horror film ‘Cemetery Gates’ as well. The film received negative reviews.
In 2007, he was seen in the horror film ‘The Girl Next Door’. Loosely based on true events, the film was directed by Gregory M Wilson, and was based on a novel of the same name by Jack Ketchum. The film received generally mixed to positive reviews. He was seen in three other films the same year, which included ‘2 Minutes Later’, ‘Sexina: Popstar P.I.’, and ‘Meat Weed America’.
He played the lead role in the vampire TV series ‘The Lair’, between 2007 and 2009. He portrayed Damian Courtenay, leader of vampire coven as well as owner of the lair. The show was met with mostly negative reviews.
Over the next few years, he continued to appear in several movies, mostly in supporting roles and minor roles. In 2017, he was seen in ‘Stage Fright’, a television thriller film, which is his latest on-screen work so far. Directed by Fred Olen Ray, the story was about Sarah Conrad, who was once a famous soap opera actress till she had to retire after she faced a violent attack. She comes back years later into the spotlight but encounters new threats to her life and career. The film was met with mostly negative reviews, and has also been described as boring and predictable. It was made on a small budget of $100,000.
