Peyton Elizabeth Lee Biography

Elizabeth Lee started her acting career in 2015, with a role in the political thriller television series ‘Scandal’, created by Shonda Rhimes. It aired on ABC. She portrayed the role of ‘Violet’ in the episode ‘I'm Just a Bill’. Her character was of a young spelling bee champion.

In 2016, she grabbed the role of a girl soldier in the comedy-drama television series ‘Shameless’. She appeared in three episodes titled ‘Pimp's Paradise’, ‘NSFW’, and ‘Refugees’. She portrayed her funny side in the series and was liked by the fans. This performance led her to the opportunity to play the lead character in a family comedy-drama television series titled ‘Andi Mack’. The show was created by Terri Minsky and premiered on Disney Channel in April 2017. Elizabeth Lee portrayed the title character, who is a seventh-grade student at the Jefferson Middle School. The show revolves around Elizabeth’s character and her two best friends, ‘Cyrus Goodman’ and ‘Buffy Driscoll’. Joshua Rush portrayed the character of ‘Cyrus Goodman,’ the first gay boy to be portrayed in a Disney production. The other main character, ‘Buffy Driscoll,’ the first girl on the Jefferson Middle School basketball team, is played by Sofia Wylie.

The show earned much appreciation from the audience and was nominated at the Peabody Awards and the British LGBT Awards in 2018. It won the ‘Outstanding Kids & Family Programming’ award at the GLAAD Media Awards as well as the ‘Television with a Conscience’ award at the Television Academy Honors awards.

Lee later appeared in the animated television series, ‘The Lion Guard’, playing the voice of ‘Rani’, in a recurring role.

Peyton Elizabeth Lee was born on May 22, 2004, in New York City, New York, to Jennifer Dormer Lee, a psychologist, and Andrew Tinpo Lee, an actor by profession. She grew up with two siblings, Ella Margaret Lee and Julian Andrew Lee. Elizabeth Lee went to Playhouse West to study acting, becoming the youngest acting student to be accepted in the school. She is currently dating Asher Angel, with whom she posts a lot of pictures on her Instagram profile. The two seem to be very close.
