Pixie Geldof Biography

Little Pixie Geldof was born on September 17, 1990, in Westminster, London, U.K., to Bob Geldof, former frontman of the Irish rock band the 'Boomtown Rats,' and Paula Yates, an English TV presenter and writer. Pixie was 10 when she lost her mother to a heroin overdose.

She had two sisters: Fifi Trixibelle (born in 1983) and Peaches Geldof. Peaches was a columnist, TV personality, and model. Unfortunately, Peaches died due to a drug overdose in 2014.

Pixie Geldof has a half-sister, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence (born in 1996), the daughter of Paula and ‘INXS’ frontman Michael Hutchence.

Pixie attended the 'Alleyn's School' in South-East London. Born into a family that was always surrounded by the paparazzi, she was habituated to a lavish lifestyle since an early age. She grew up to be a spoilt brat and was often seen partying with the children of millionaires. Just a week before her GCSE exam, Pixie was suspended from school, as she was caught smoking and drinking.

Pixie ventured into modeling at the age of 18, when the modeling agency 'Select,' which was owned by her friend and model Alice Dellal, signed her. She was featured on a New Year's list of ''Britain's 20 Coolest Women Under 30.'' 'Select' chose Pixie and her model friends Daisy Lowe and Lydia Hearst for a campaign for the spring/ summer collection of 'Pringle of Scotland.'

In 2008, Pixie Geldof was on the cover of the lifestyle and fashion magazine 'Tatler.' Eventually, modeling offers started pouring in, and she had the opportunity to work for brands such as 'Diesel,' 'Henry Holland, 'Levi's,' 'Razzle,' 'Agent Provocateur,' and 'Loewe.' She also walked for designers Vivienne Westwood, Luella, and Jeremy Scott.

In 2010, she modeled for 'Debenhams,' a British multinational retailer.

Pixie had delved into songwriting when she was 18. As the lead vocalist of the band 'Violet,' she released her first single with the group in May 2012.

In April 2014, she was to perform as a DJ at 'Coachella,' but she could not attend the event due to the tragic death of her sister Peaches.

In November 2016, she released her first solo album, a collection of love songs titled 'I'm Yours..,' produced by Tony Hoffer.

Pixie has been married to 'These New Puritans' drummer George Barnett since 2017. Their wedding ceremony was held in Majorca, Spain. They now live in Upper Clapton.

Her friends, especially radio DJ and former 'X Factor' judge Nick Grimshaw, supported her to come to terms with Peaches's death. Grimshaw would keep her busy with episodes of 'Keeping Up with The Kardashians' and feed her pizza.

Pixie Geldof has several rich friends, such as TV presenter Alexa Chung, model Daisy Lowe, singer-songwriter Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberly, and publishing heiress Lydia Hearst. The paparazzi has particularly been interested in her relationship with model Alice Dellal, because of Dellal’s image in the media. Dellal was apparently photographed having cocaine in the past. The media also caught the two kissing each other in November 2008.

At the age of 16, Pixie was spotted getting intimate with a much-older comedian, Noel Fielding (of 'Mighty Boosh' troupe fame), at Peaches's 18th birthday party. She has also been spotted with punk band 'Towers of London' singer Donny Tourette, who is often described as a womanizer.

At her 18th birthday party, organized at the London club 'Bungalow 8,' Pixie was seen cuddling with actor Nicholas Hoult of 'Skins' fame.

Pixie has her mother's signature inked on her wrist. Previously, she was embarrassed by her tattoos. She had the phrase "What will survive of us is love" tattooed on her right forearm, in a stylish script. She got the tattoo removed later.

Pixie Geldof is vocal against the use of animals for testing beauty products. She promotes veganism and supports cruelty-free beauty brands. In October 2018, she traveled to the 'United Nations' in New York City to support a petition launched by the vegan beauty brand 'The Body Shop.' The appeal was to end animal testing in the beauty industry.

Pixie is an adventure lover and is especially fond of marine wildlife. In November 2018, Pixie attended the launch of the marine conservation projects 'Project Zero,' 'Sky Ocean Rescue,' and 'Project 0' in London to support the '#PassOnPlastic Reusable Range.' She advocates for marine conservation and has been the face of the '#PassOnPlastic' campaign against the usage of plastics and sea pollution. She also supports the use of reusable plastics.

Pixie Geldof supports the 'Wild at Heart Foundation,' too. Her father accompanied her to the 'Fashions for the Future Event' organized by the 'Junior Ocean Council' at London's 'Phillips Auction House,' as a gesture of support.
