Pokimane was born Imane Anys on May 14, 1996, in Morocco. She started playing video games right from her childhood and fell in love with a game called ‘League of Legends’ very early in her life.

She created another YouTube channel in January 2018, and started posting videos exclusively for her Chinese viewers. Her Chinese YouTube channel currently has more than 6,000 subscribers.

Pokimane is also extremely popular on Instagram, where she has more than 790,000 followers. She also has an official Facebook page, which she uses to interact with her fans and followers.

Pokimane owns an online store in association with ‘Meta Threads.’ Her online store sells clothing for both men and women at reasonable prices. She often doubles up as a model for her clothing brand and can be seen posing for products like T-shirts and sweaters.

Imane is a huge fan of the popular animated series ‘Pokemon’ and hence chose ‘Pokimane’ as her pseudonym. She even posted a video explaining the meaning and origin of her pseudonym. She is also a fan of anime, and many of her YouTube videos are based on anime and its characters.

She can speak French, English, and Moroccan Darija fluently. She is of mixed origin and shares a special bond with China. She loves Asia so much so that she wants to live in Japan in near future.
