Madras Rajagopalan Radhakrishnan Ravi is a famous Indian actor who has acted predominantly in Tamil movies. Apart from Tamil, he has acted in Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam movies as well. He has also acted in three serials, including the successful serial ‘Chellamae’. He is the son of veteran Tamil actor M. R. Radha and the half-brother of Raadhika, another popular actress of south India. Having started his career as a theater artist, he eventually moved into films. His film debut was the Kannada film titled ‘Rahasya Rathri.’ He then went on to act in more than 150 movies in his career spanning over 40 years. He was predominantly cast as an antagonist in the beginning. However, now he has proved himself to be a versatile actor capable of playing a variety of roles. He is also one of the many actors who have been involved in politics. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from Saidapet in 2001 as a member of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. He is also known for his controversial criticism of other famous personalities in the film industry. In the recent #MeToo movement, numerous allegations of sexual harassment were made against him. In a recent movie trailer launch event, he made misogynistic comments against the leading actress. He faced public backlash and was suspended from the DMK party.
