Scandals
In 2019, Vardy had a public spat with fellow ''WAG'' Coleen Rooney, wife of former England captain Wayne Rooney. Previously, Rooney had revealed on social media that she had been suspecting someone of betraying her and leaking private information about her to a premier media house for years. She even claimed to have proof that Vardy was the culprit.
The incident made Rooney earn the nickname “WAGatha Christie.’’ Rooney claimed that Vardy’s 'Instagram' account was the only one to be able to view several fake stories on Rooney’s page, which eventually ended up making headlines. Rooney revealed that she had deliberately fabricated news and posted them on her 'Instagram' page to unmask Vardy. She then posted a blasphemous “tweet’’ that triggered a deluge of hate comments for Vardy.
Rooney named another ''WAG,'' English glamor model and former wife of ‘Tottenham’ player Jamie O’Hara, Danielle Lloyd, who claimed to have a similar experience with Vardy.
Vardy has denied all such allegations and suggested that her 'Instagram' account could have been hacked. She counter-attacked Rooney by making a subtle dig at her, claiming she had accused a ''heavily pregnant'' woman. As told to the 'Daily Mail,' she demanded proof supporting Rooney's claims.
Vardy has undergone forensic investigation to prove her innocence. 'The Sun' claimed that Rooney’s representatives were approached every time before the journal published any of the stories. They declined to comment on each occasion. Vardy’s father, Carlos Miranda, defended her by saying that she had always been amicable to Rooney.
Remarking on the whole incident, 'Netflix' commented that the Vardy–Rooney spat could be a potential plot for a successful documentary. Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn joked about being willing to end the feud by organizing a charity boxing match.
Family & Personal Life
Rebekah Vardy was born Rebekah Miranda Nicholson, on February 17, 1982, in Norwich city, England, to Allison and John Miranda. John was a window cleaner in Norwich. She has a younger sister named Esther.
Vardy was 11 when her parents divorced. She did not accept her mother’s marriage to Ian Nicolson, a radio presenter. Vardy lived with her mother and Ian in Oxfordshire. Growing up in such a dysfunctional family, Vardy became a troubled and quarrelsome teenager at school. She even started drinking. Hence, she was forced to leave the family home at 16.
Vardy initially worked in bars. In a recent interview, she revealed that she had been sexually abused by a family friend since the age of 11 years.
At the age of 18 years, Vardy married electrician Mark Godden in Mexico. Back then, she was working as a barmaid in the hope of becoming a model. They had a beach wedding worth £7,000. Unfortunately, the tumultuous marriage ended in a divorce in 2003. Vardy later admitted that her extra-marital affair with singer Peter Andre had caused the divorce but confessed that he was the ''worst lover'' she had ever had.
Vardy then began an on–off relationship with Steve Clarke, her boss at a timeshare company, and simultaneously became pregnant by an unknown man. She was 23 years old and 8 months pregnant when she married Clarke, which she later described as the ''biggest mistake of her life.'' The two moved to Cyprus, but the marriage lasted for only 10 months. They broke up after Clarke allegedly cheated on her. Vardy came back to the UK with her first child, daughter Megan, who was born in 2006.
Vardy then dated former lower-league footballer Luke Foster, who was playing for the ‘Conference’ side 'Oxford United' in 2007. Foster’s falling career impacted Vardy’s lavish lifestyle, and the two had an amicable break-up in 2013. She was working at the nightclub 'Viper' in Sheffield back then, a job that Foster had got her. They had a son named Taylor, before breaking up.
Vardy met her present husband, Jamie, while planning his birthday party (while working in a club) in 2014. They eventually started dating, and 3 months later, she became pregnant with their daughter, Sofia. Soon after Sofia's birth, Vardy and Jamie had a lavish star-studded wedding on May 25, 2016, at ‘Peckforton Castle’ in Cheshire.
Due to an ongoing family feud, their parents did not attend the wedding. Vardy’s sister, Esther, and stepbrother, Robbie, had, however, attended the wedding.
Jamie and Vardy welcomed their second child, Finlay, in January 2017. A third baby is on the way. He has a daughter, Ella, from his former girlfriend, Emma Daggett. Vardy, Jamie, and their children now live in Melton Mowbray.
Vardy is involved with many local charities. She serves as an ambassador for 'YoungMinds' and is a patron of 'Enough Abuse UK.' Vardy has supported the Leicestershire charity 'Hope against Cancer' and the Leicestershire school 'Dorothy Goodman.'
