Renée Estevez made her acting career debut in 1986, starring in a CBS Schoolbreak special, ‘Babies Having Babies,’ for which she won the ‘Michael Landon Award’ at the Young Artist Awards in 1987. The most popular movie of her career so far has turned out to be the cult favorite ‘Heathers’ (1989), in which she portrayed the role of geeky Betty Finn. She played the secondary roles in several movies including ‘Shattered Spirits’ and made an uncredited appearance in the director's cut of the movie ‘Lethal Weapon’ (1987). She was also featured in two late 1980s’ slasher films – ‘Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers’ (1988) and ‘Intruder’ (1989). She played the role of the girl Molly in the former film and the role of the first victim Linda in the latter.

She has guest-starred in various TV shows, including ‘Growing Pains’ (1985), ‘MacGyver’ (1985), ‘ABC Afterschool Specials’ (1972), ‘Red Shoe Diaries’ (1992), ‘JAG’ (1995), and ‘The Division’ (2001).

She is best known for her role in the TV series ‘The West Wing’, in which she portrayed the role of Nancy, an office assistant of President Josiah Bartlet in his Oval Office. The role of President Bartlet was played by her own father, Martin Sheen. She also appeared with her brother Charlie Sheen in the 2001 drama film ‘Good Advice.’ She appeared in the Spanish drama film ‘The Way’ (2010), which was written, directed and produced by her brother Emilio Estevez and starred their father Martin Sheen. She penned down several episodes of the TV series ‘Anger Management’ (2012), starring her brother Charlie Sheen.

Renée Estevez was born on April 2, 1967, in New York City, U.S. She is the fourth child and the only daughter of actor Martin Sheen (legally Ramón Estévez) and artist Janet (née Templeton). Her father is of Spanish and Irish descent. Her three older brothers, named Emilio Estevez, Ramon Estevez and Charlie Sheen (born Carlos Estevez), are also successful actors.

She met a professional golfer, Jason Thomas Federico, at the California Culinary Academy where she studied pastry and baking science while he received a degree in culinary arts. The couple got married on October 11, 1997, at the Church of Our Lady of the Scapular-St. Stephen in New York in a Roman Catholic wedding. After several years of marriage, the couple got divorced in 2011 in Los Angeles.
