Childhood & Early Life

Rhenzy Feliz was born on October 26, 1997, in the Bronx, New York City, New York, USA. He was raised in Florida by his mother who was just 21 years old at the time of his birth. His mother decided to move to Florida as she hated the cold in New York City and didn't want her son to grow up in the Bronx neighborhoods.

Feliz’s mother took on several odd jobs while living in Florida. Because of the nature of her jobs, she kept relocating along with her son. Owing to his family’s frequent relocation, Feliz attended eight schools by the time he was in the third grade. In spite of it all, he would later credit his mother for making his childhood memorable.

When his mother remarried, the family moved to California where he attended ‘Santa Monica High School’ (SAMOHI). Though Feliz had expressed interest in performing arts by singing karaoke on stage at the age of six, he did not pursue performing arts during his high school years. Instead, he chose to play baseball during his early high school years.

When he found out that he had no true passion for baseball, he decided to give performing arts another try. While in his junior year in high school, he took part in his school play and fell in love with acting. Eventually, he graduated from ‘Santa Monica High School,’ majoring in drama.

In 2016, he took part in the prestigious ‘August Wilson Monologue Competition’ along with his team and made it to the finals. He also performed well at the ‘Music Center's Spotlight Program’ where he received accolades for his performance. His skills and passion for acting landed him his first television role.

Career

In 2016, Rhenzy Feliz was cast to play his first recurring role in the popular comedy-drama TV series ‘Casual.’ He played Spencer, a teenager suffering from terminal cancer and appeared in 10 episodes aired on the ‘Hulu’ digital media network in 2016. In the series, he was seen alongside actors like Tara Lynne Barr and Michaela Suzanne Watkins.

He landed another recurring role in 2017 when he was cast to play Aaron in five episodes of teen drama television series ‘Teen Wolf.’ The series, which is based on the 1985 film of the same name, was developed by Jeff Davis for ‘MTV.’ Thanks to the popularity of ‘Teen Wolf,’ Feliz became famous after appearing in the series.

Subsequently, Rhenzy Feliz received his breakthrough role in 2017 when he became part of the main cast of the famous American web television series ‘Marvel's Runaways.’ He was cast to play Alex Wilder, an intelligent teenager who leads a group of runaways. Feliz became a household name after appearing in the series. ‘Marvel's Runaways’ went on to receive positive reviews from critics and was nominated for the ‘Best New Media Superhero Series’ at the 44th ‘Saturn Awards.’

In 2018, he played Marc in one of the episodes of ‘ABC’ network's fantasy comedy-drama television series ‘Kevin (Probably) Saves the World.’ In the same year, he appeared as himself in a talk show titled ‘Collider Heroes.’ In 2019, he made a guest appearance in another talk show titled ‘Last Call with Carson Daly.’

Rhenzy Feliz is close to his mother. On May 19, 2016, he posted a picture of her with a caption titled ‘my number one girl’ on his official Instagram page. He is also close to his uncle Max who often extends his support towards him.

Feliz was introduced to Colombian actress Isabella Gomez by a mutual friend Ariela Barer who starred alongside Feliz in ‘Marvel’s Runaways.’ He started dating Isabella Gomez in 2018 and went on to post pictures of her on Instagram.

He loves traveling and aspires to visit new places as often as possible. He would also love to scuba dive at the Great Barrier Reef in the future. He spends his free time playing video games and ‘The Last of Us’ is one of his favorite games. He also loves going snowboarding along with his friends.
