    Although Mel Gibson and Robyn Moore have never shared in public, the reason for their divorce one can safely assume that Mel Gibson’s infidelity is the reason behind the breakup of their marriage. When Robyn filed for divorce in 2009, Mel Gibson’s relationship with then-pregnant Russian pianist, Oksana Grigorieva, was in public domain. She was also part of many radio shows and started hosting her own show called How Green was My Cactus, in 1986. The show is one of the longest running political satire radio shows in Australia. Relationship with Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson and Robyn Denise Moore started dating in the mid-1970s. According to reports, they had rented rooms in the same building in Adelaide when Gibson was working for the ‘South Australian Theatre Company’. Robyn on the other hand was working as a dental nurse. Soon, their relationship blossomed, eventually culminating in their wedding, on June 7, 1980, at a Catholic church in Forestville, a suburb of northern Sydney, Australia. Throughout their marriage, which lasted for 30 years, Mel and Robyn were blessed with a daughter and six sons, namely Hannah, Edward, Christian, William, Louis, Milo, and Thomas.

In 2006, Mel Gibson was arrested in Malibu, California, for driving under the influence of alcohol. In an interview, which happened years after his arrest, Mel Gibson had said that his relationship with Robyn was never the same post his 2006 arrest. On April 13, 2009, Robyn Moore Gibson filed for divorce, which was finalized on December 23, 2011. Interestingly, Robyn had filed for divorce when Gibson’s photographs showing him in a beach with Russian pianist Oksana Grigorieva had surfaced. Mel Gibson had to agree to a settlement worth more than $400 million, which at that time became the highest divorce settlement in Hollywood history.

She once raised $14,000 for a charity through one of her television commercials.
