Romeo Jon Bongiovi Biography

Romeo was born on March 29, 2004, in the United States of America. His father, John Francis Bongiovi Jr., or as he is better known, Jon Bon Jovi, is a singer-songwriter, actor, and frontman of the rock group, Bon Jovi. Romeo’s mother, Dorothea Hurley, is a karate instructor. Among his siblings, Stephanie, born on May 31, 1991, is the eldest. Jesse was born nearly three years after that, on February 19, 1995. Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley’s third child, Jacob, was born on May 7, 2002.

His paternal grandparents were both marines. Besides serving in the United States military, his grandfather, John Francis Bongiovi, Sr., was a barber. His grandmother was a Playboy Bunny who later became a florist. Romeo has two paternal uncles, Anthony and Matthew. Through his father’s side, Romeo is of Italian, Slovak, German, and Russian descent.

Romeo’s parents were childhood sweethearts. They met while they were both students at St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, New Jersey. At the time, Bongiovi had just moved into the town and was attempting to cheat off Hurley’s work during a test. They grew close in the subsequent months and began dating, but they eventually broke up. In the ensuing years, Jon Bon Jovi had a much-publicised relationship with actress Diane Lane. However, he eventually reconciled with Hurley. During the New Jersey Syndicate Tour in 1989, the band was performing in Los Angeles when the couple eloped. They travelled to Las Vegas, Nevada and exchanged wedding vows at the Graceland Wedding Chapel on 29 April.

As a member of Bon Jovi, Jon Bon Jovi has released 12 studio albums, four extended plays, three compilation albums, and numerous singles to date. For the 1991 song ‘Blaze of Glory’, he and the band were awarded the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. He has also been a prolific actor and has appeared in films like ‘Young Guns II’ (1990), ‘Moonlight & Valentino’ (1995), ‘No Looking Back’ (1998), ‘Cry Wolf’ (2005), and ‘New Year’s Eve’ (2011).

In November 2012, Romeo’s sister, Stephanie, reached out to their father at 2 a.m. in the morning and said that she had overdosed on heroin at her dormitory at Hamilton College. She was subsequently admitted in a hospital and made full recovery. The authorities did not file any charges against her or her male companion, Ian Grant, as local laws prevent the indictment of people who overdose on drugs. In the following months, Romeo’s parents received heavy criticism from both the media and the public. Some people even called them “bad parents”. In response, Romeo’s mother stated that she hoped that their critics never have to endure what their family did.
