Ronnie began his career in 2010 as a YouTuber. His fame on social media skyrocketed after he started creating 'Vine' videos. His first 'Vine' video, 'First Vine,' was posted in May 2013. Ronnie soon became a popular 'Vine' artist and built a huge fan following. His 'Vine' videos were ranked among the top 50 “Vines” of all time and earned him over two million followers. His first ‘YouTube’ channel was known as ‘yungronTV’ (now ‘iRonnie’). He created his second 'YouTube' channel in 2013. The channel, ‘RonnieSwanks,’ now known as ‘BANKS Family,’ features a variety of content, such as vlogs, pranks, challenges, travel diaries, and reactions. He now promotes this particular channel as his primary channel. The channel has accumulated around 600k subscribers. He owns another 'YouTube' channel, ‘IamRonnieBanks’ (now ‘Ronnie Banks’), which features content that is similar to that on his primary channel.

With the rise of his social-media fame, Ronnie ventured into acting and music. He appeared in an episode of the ninth season of the ‘CBS’ crime drama 'Criminal Minds.' He has also appeared in ‘Sally,’ ‘Easy Hustle,’ and ‘Miles Handy.’ He has also modeled for a few brands. Ronnie released his debut single, 'Wake Up,' in 2014. The track featured famous singer Adrian Marcel and debuted at the tenth spot on the ‘iTunes R&B Charts.’ The same year, he performed at 'Scream Jam' held in San Francisco. He has composed a number of songs dedicated to Jasmine. Ronnie’s fans are known as the 'Bankers.'

Ronnie was initially in a relationship with American singer, actor, and model Jasmine Villegas, better known as “Jasmine V.” They met for the first time in 2014, when Jasmine was shooting for the music video for her song 'That's Me Right There,' in which he was cast as the lead. They started dating each other soon. Sadly, the initial period of their relationship was full of ups and downs. They broke up and got back together numerous times.

Toward the end of 2015, Jasmine announced her pregnancy on social media. Ronnie composed a song titled 'Marie's Gift' to express his emotions about being a father. He used Jasmine's middle name, “Marie,” in the song and dedicated the track to her. On December 7, 2015, Ronnie posted a video titled 'WE ARE PREGNANT?' which revealed the baby's name. The couple had a maternity photoshoot done by an upcoming photographer and Jasmine's best friend Rob Swanson. On February 19, 2016, Ronnie’s daughter, Ameera Reign Eloise Villegas Hackett, was born. Ronnie documented the C-section delivery and posted the vlog on his channel. He even inked her initials, 'A.R.E.H.,' on his hand. He later released a series of vlogs titled ‘Life With Ameera,’ which documented the life of the newborn.

Ronnie and Jasmine got engaged on Christmas 2016, in the presence of her family. The proposal was documented and was later posted on Ronnie’s channel. However, the couple later separated.

In 2018, he started dating Instagram star Makeala Cachola. The couple has 2 daughters; Avayah, who was born in December 2019, and Aylah Rose, who was born in February 2021. Ronnie and Makeala are now happily married.

Ronnie was born Ronald Smith Quincy Hacket III, on October 20, 1997, in Oakland. He grew up with his younger sister in Antioch, California. He is of mixed descent, with a blend of Filipino and African–American ethnicities.
