It was never on the cards for Rose Dorothy Dauriac to have a normal upbringing. Scarlett Johansson is usually hounded by the media who want to take pictures of her. And as her daughter, Rose became an unwilling victim of the media frenzy. Even before her birth, curiosity about her started to hit the fan after Scarlett revealed to the media she was pregnant. Images of Johansson’s baby bump on the red carpet started popping up all over the web. Of course, her parents’ marriage, just after her birth, also generated more attention for the baby.

Her father wanted to return to his native France with Rose, while her mother sought primary custody after the divorce. Things got worse when Scarlett went public with her divorce and stated in an interview, “As a devoted mother and private person and with complete awareness that my daughter will one day be old enough to read the news about herself, I would only like to say that I will never, ever be commenting on the dissolution of my marriage…”

Her decision to release the statement, while asking the media and Romain to respect her privacy, was not appreciated by Romain. He retorted that “It is indeed unfortunate, especially for our daughter, that Scarlett filed in court and made our personal differences so public…We are the parents of a lovely daughter whom we will continue to co-parent for many years and share her joys and sorrows as only a parent can.”

The divorce was finally settled on September 13, 2017. Both parties agreed to joint custody of Rose with each spending every other week with their daughter. Needless to say, Rose could have done without the media attention the whole incident brought on her. She continues to grow up happily and as sheltered as possible, under the loving eyes of her parents. She often follows her mother to her movie sets as well.

While her mother is an award-winning actress, her father owns a creative advertising agency. Rose is the heiress to a combined fortune of more than US $100 million.
