RussoPlays created the gaming YouTube channel of the same name on September 12, 2014 but made his first upload, Pokemon GO Cheat: How to Play In Landscape Mode NO HACKS!!, on August 22, 2016. Apart from Pokémon GO, his early videos covered games such as Clash Royale, Slither.io, and Minecraft: Money Wars. He quickly discovered Roblox and made a Pokémon-themed video on the game in September that year. He continued to play ‘Minecraft: Money Wars’ and Pokémon mods on Roblox, such as ‘Project Pokémon’.

He got a huge boost after he started streaming Pokémon Brick Bronze on Roblox and celebrated reaching 100K subscribers by dying his hair blue in May 2017. In a Q&A video posted a couple months ago, he had stated that his channel had grown enough for him to focus on YouTube fulltime. After Pokémon Brick Bronze was removed due to copyright issues, he decided to focus on Roblox Simulators because his videos on ‘Pet Simulator’ were very popular among his fans. He soon shifted focus towards making Roblox games, such as Pokemon Party in July 2017, but the game was launched with various issues and was later deleted despite interest among fans. Since then, he has produced several other Roblox games such as ‘Tapping Gods’, ‘Anime Battle Tycoon’ and ‘Pet Fighter Simulator’, which he also regularly plays on his channel.

RussoPlays liked to entertain people since he was young and was immediately drawn to YouTube after discovering it during its early years. In a Q&A on March 7, 2017, he mentioned that he had been doing YouTube for ten years since before monetization was available. Later, in his first video on his current vlogging channel, he revealed that he was a vlogger long before he started making gaming videos. He further stated that apart from vlogs, he made sit-down videos, comedy videos, skits and music videos as well.

Since December 2016, Russo had been vlogging on the channel, Russo Family Vlogs, on which he regularly featured his wife and two daughters. However, he moved to a new vlogging channel called Russo Vlogs in January 2020 after having issues with the old one. He also often appears on his wife’s eponymous channel Meg. He has been streaming on the channel ‘Russo’ since mid-2017. He runs the collaborative Pokémon channel Blue Version with his friends Ian Smith a.k.a. ItsIanBV and Tucker Korns a.k.a. Prismatik. He also co-manages the Infinite Canvas’ channel with DeeterPlays and TeraBrite Games, consisting of the duo SabrinaBrite and DJ Monopoli. However, most popular among his secondary channels is Roblox Battles, which he created in February 2019 in collaboration with TeraBrite Games in order to host events for Roblox YouTubers to compete against each other. He launched his own clothing company ‘Blue’ in late 2020.

RussoPlays was born as Anthony Russo on April 15, 1996 in the United States. While not much is known about his early life, he has mentioned having a sister. He is in a relationship with Meg Bennett—a YouTuber with her own YouTube channel called Meg— who regularly appears in their family vlogging channel Russo Vlogs. Meg, who is two years older than him, was an old friend of his sister back in the middle school days. They continued to keep in touch and later developed feelings for each other. They welcomed their first child, daughter Bella, on May 4, 2017. During the Christmas holidays the same year, he announced through a short vlog that they were expecting another child. Their second daughter Ariel Aurora was born on July 24, 2018. He got engaged to Meg in November 2018. Throughout 2020, he documented designing their “dream house” and finally moved into the house in November that year. Starting on his 22nd birthday, he decided to make short videos on every birthday to update his viewers about where he was in life.
