Rydel Lynch is an American singer, dancer, and actress, best known for her association with the pop rock band R5. She is a founder member of the band which also included her brothers, Riker, Rocky, and Ross Lynch, and her former boyfriend, Ellington Ratliff. She played the keyboard and also lent her voice to the band’s songs. She is the only girl among her siblings and in the band as well. She is known for her trademark smile and claims to be girly and a tomboy at the same time. She learned to sing and dance at an early age and was influenced by popular rock bands like All Time Low, Neon Trees, and The Script. As part of the band, she had embarked on five concert tours, including two worldwide tours across five continents, and two promotional tours. Rydel Mary Lynch was born on August 9, 1993, in Littleton, Colorado, to Stormie and Mark Lynch. She is the second child of her parents and the only girl among five siblings.
She and her siblings are all musically gifted and were part of their family band, R5. Interestingly, their parents cannot play any musical instrument, even though they always played music from Bruce Springsteen, INXS, and Michael Jackson, which the children grew up listening to.

In 2008, Rydel Lynch started her professional career as an actor and appeared in the musical film Sunday School Musical as a Crossroads Choir Member. In the film, she can be seen dancing along with her older brother, Riker Lynch.

In 2009, Rydel Lynch, along with her brothers Riker, Rocky, and Ross Lynch, and family friend Ellington Ratliff, founded the rock band R5. Her youngest brother Ryland served as the manager of the group. They started by creating a YouTube channel, where they posted the web series, R5 TV, documenting their everyday lives.
The band released their first music video, Without You, on September 5, 2010. It was later included in their self-released five-track EP titled Ready Set Rock, which was released on March 9, 2010.
In April 2012, R5 signed a deal with Hollywood Records. The next month, they went on their first tour titled the West Coast Tour, where she performed a cover of Call Me Maybe.
The debut EP of the band Loud was released on February 19, 2013. It contained four songs, including the lead single Loud. The EP reached the top 3 of the iTunes chart on the day of its release.
On September 24, 2013, R5 released their debut studio album, Louder, which ranked number 2 on the iTunes charts. She sang the track Love Me Like That which was received with positive reviews.
R5 released their third EP, Heart Made Up on You, on July 22, 2014. Once again, it received praise from the critics. The EP contained four tracks including the title track, Heart Made Up on You, which the group has performed a number of times, including at We Day and on the TV series Violetta.
On July 10, 2015, the band released their second full-length album, Sometime Last Night. The lead single of the album, Smile, was released on November 14, 2014, and was performed live later that month at the American Music Awards pre-show and in Good Morning America. The album contains the song Lightning Strikes, sung by Rydel Lynch.
In 2017, the band came out with their final Extended Play titled “New Addictions.” The EP consisted of five singles including "If," "Lay Your Head Down," "Need You Tonight," "Trading Time," and “Red Velvet.”
In February 2018, R5 released a Youtube video titled “The Last Show” and soon after, the band officially disbanded.
The album Sometime Last Night is so far the highest-selling album of the band R5. It debuted at number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart and ranked No. 1 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart.
In 2013, Rydel Lynch, along with her band, won Radio Disney's Next Big Thing award. The same year, they were also nominated for Radio Disney Music Awards in the category of Best Acoustic Performance for the song Loud.
