Saif Shawaf Bio

Saif Shawaf is from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Syrian-Canadian social media star now hops from New York City to Toronto and Dubai, dividing his time.

He studied at the McMaster University. He then joined flight school and trained to become a pilot.

Saif Shawaf has made quite a name for himself on YouTube. The content creator and singer initially gained fame with his entertaining Q&A videos that he posted on his TikTok handle, saifshawaf. He has gained millions of followers on the platform.

He then started posting on his YouTube channel, SaifShawaf, previously known as ThatArabLife, which he launched in February 2010. Not known to many, he received $300 to post a clip showing him singing Beyonce’s If I Were a Boy on YouTube, thus starting his YouTube career.

One of his best-known clips on YouTube is the music video of Chicken Wing, which he released on March 1, 2022. He has amassed millions of subscribers on the channel, through the years. Through his channel, he also supports social causes and initiatives such as Talentforhumanity.

He is equally popular on Instagram, where his account, saifshawaf, has fetched him thousands of followers. Apart from posting snippets of his life, he also often posts highlights from his travel adventures to places such as Mexico, Cuba, and Malaysia.

He is also on Twitter and Snapchat and has been on Vine too. Over the years, he has also promoted brands such as HelloFresh Canada, Bang Energy Canada, Kraft Dinner, and Bounce Curl. He is often compared to fellow Saudi YouTuber Fahad Albutairi.

The third-eldest of seven siblings (2 girls and 5 boys), Saif was all of 3 when he moved to Canada from Jeddah with his family.

In 2000, Saif moved back to Saudi and then to Dubai, UAE. He later moved to China and then went back to Canada.
