Sawyer Hartman Bio

At the age of 18, Sawyer left college and moved to LA in the hopes of becoming an actor. He encountered difficulties along the way until he stumbled upon YouTube. He soon realized his love for shooting and recording and discovered his real happiness rested in directing. He decided to take it seriously and began collaborating with other YouTubers. Eventually, he met Jonathan Coco and directing short films took off from there for him. His first film ‘Welcome to Tokyo’ was shot and released in 2014. It was well received and earned him sufficient recognition for him to go on to direct and produce his second short film ‘Parallax’ the same year. In 2015, he came out with ‘The Parallax Theory,’ which is his most distinguished work till now. It is a 6-episode Sci-Fi drama miniseries that left the world wondering if “humans are a doomed race.” Thus, he has sealed his spot and is serious about direction; today he is currently working on projects outside of YouTube with traditional networks and has huge upcoming projects. We can’t wait to watch them! After all, he has proven his talent, even without receiving any formal filmmaking training.

He has an electrifying passion for his work and has dedicated all his time to shaping and building his career. Direction has become his life; taking a break from his work makes him uncomfortable, for he has found his true love behind the camera and wants to continue to provide excellent work to his fans. He is a humanitarian at heart, with his main aim in life being to contribute to peace in the world. He loves animals and cherishes all the relationships he has, whether it be with family or friends.

Sawyer calls himself a “nerd’, he crushes over cameras and is a fanatic for software. As seen in his videos, he loves traveling around the world and wants to explore the universe. He prefers to direct dramatic films, and his favorite movies are horror movies. Music touches his soul; he loves listening to 1960s rock music as it makes him happy. As a child, he loved dressing up and entertaining his parents and family. His favorite food is fondue and Reece’s peanut butter cups. He takes inspiration from Leonardo Di Caprio.

He was born in Atlanta to Karen and Jim Hartman, a pilot. He is a momma’s boy and loved watching James Bond movies with his father while eating Oreos on the couch. However, childhood happiness didn’t stay with him for long as his parents got divorced when he was only seven years old. He hardly got to meet his father after that. But his parents have been instrumental in shaping his life as he has been inspired by both of them. His grandmother Dorothy, who he calls “Da” moved in with them, and he grew very fond of her. His best friend is his childhood companion Matt Onofrey, and the two still stand by each other through thick and thin. When he moved to LA after leaving college midway, he was very lonely. So he got himself a companion in his dog, Hitch. He used to talk to him for hours and even today has intense conversations with him. He then met Joey Graceffa, who became his roommate, and his family too. He is currently dating the gorgeous movie star Angelique and the two got married in March 2023. Sawyer Hartman has also appeared on Angelique’s Youtube channel.

His ex-girlfriend, Blair Fowler, also a YouTuber introduced him to YouTube and encouraged him to create his own channel. They are still friends and he owes his success to her.
