Childhood & Early Life
Scott Michael Foster was born on March 4, 1985, at the Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois, US. He later relocated to the city of ‘Highland Village’ in Denton County, Texas. He became interested in acting while he was still in his elementary school; he was inspired his two elder sisters who were associated with theatres.
He attended ‘Briarhill Middle School’ where he selected theatre as an elective. He then studied at the ‘Edward S. Marcus High School’ and graduated in 2003. While attending high school, Scott got involved in theatre. He joined ‘Collin College’ for further studies and attended the ‘Quad C Theatre’ program. Scott, however, dropped out of college after completing one semester to start his professional acting career.

Career
Credited as ‘Scott M. Foster,’ he played the role of ‘Billy’ in the small indie drama film ‘The Horrible Flowers.’ The film premiered at the ‘São Paulo International Film Festival’ in Brazil on October 20, 2006, and later at the ‘Tucson Film & Music Festival,’ on September 2, 2007. He appeared in a single episode of the series ‘The Game’ and ‘Women's Murder Club,’ in 2007.
His real breakthrough came when he was cast in one of the main roles of ‘Captain John Paul "Cappie" Jones’ in the American comedy-drama television series ‘Greek.’ He appeared in all four seasons of the show that ran on ABC Family, from July 9, 2007 to March 7, 2011.
Meanwhile, he became part of regular cast of the American web series called ‘Quarterlife.’ It was also telecast as an NBC television series for a brief period in 2008. He played the lead role of ‘Thayer Mangeres,’ starring along with Noa Hegesh and Regina Crosby, in the October 20, 2009 released independent drama film ‘Teenage Dirtbag.’ The following year, he featured as ‘Kern’ in the comedy film ‘Ashley's Ashes.’
In 2011, he essayed the recurring role of ‘George’ in the ABC Family sitcom television series ‘Melissa & Joey,’ starring Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence. He appeared in recurring role as‘Tyler’ in the Showtime comedy-drama television series ‘Californication,’ and as ‘Jonas’ in the ABC found-footage supernatural adventure horror series ‘The River.’
He appeared in the role of ‘Arron Martin’ in the short-lived conspiracy television series ‘Zero Hour,’ which aired on ABC, from February 14, 2013 to August 3, 2013.
He appeared in the recurring role of ‘Hunt Whitmarsh’ in season one of the AMC aired period drama television series ‘Halt and Catch Fire,’ in 2014. The same year, he played the recurring role of ‘Kristoff’ in the ABC fairytale drama television series ‘Once Upon a Time’ and starred as ‘Officer Daniel Meyer,’ alongside Caity Lotz and Camilla Luddington in the September 5, 2014 released horror film ‘The Pact 2.’ Between 2014 and 2015, he appeared in 26 episodes of the ABC Family drama series ‘Chasing Life,’ portraying the recurring role of ‘Leo Hendrie.’
His next main role was that of ‘Wick Briggs’ in the prime time television soap opera ‘Blood & Oil.’ He starred along with Don Johnson and Amber Valletta in the series, which aired on ABC from September 27, 2015 to December 13, 2015. The same year he starred with Italia Ricci and Dorien Davies in the short drama fantasy film ‘Must Feed and Water.’ He was featured in in that year’s Variety magazine’s list of ‘10 Actors to Watch.’
The 2016 comedy film ‘My Dead Boyfriend’ featured Scott as ‘Howard.’
In 2017, Scott appeared in the recurring role of a wealthy and successful lawyer called ‘Nathaniel Plimpton III’ during season 2 of The CW romantic musical comedy-drama television series ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.’ The character was eventually turned into a main one in season 3 of the series and went on to feature as part of main cast in season 4 as well.
He starred as ‘Jake’ in the Clare Niederpruem directed and June 29, 2019 released romantic Hallmark Original Movie ‘In the Key of Love.’
Over the years, Scott has also guest-starred in many popular television series, including the comedy-drama series ‘Parenthood’ and the police procedural and legal drama series ‘Law & Order: LA,’ in 2011, and in the police procedural series ‘The Closer,’ in 2012.
Scott is a skilled guitarist and has also endeavoured into music. He performs as the lead singer of his indie rock band, ‘Siren's Eye.’ The band came up with its debut EP, ‘Red Room,’ on December 15, 2009, on iTunes.
Family & Personal Life
Although not much is known about the personal life of the actor, it is said Scott was romantically associated with his ‘Greek’ co-star Spencer Grammer for some time. They, however, parted ways in 2008.
He is also said to have dated actress Laura Prepon, from 2008 to 2013.
His hobbies include singing, listening to music, and travelling.
