Shannon Beveridge was born on March 19, 1992, in Carrollton, Texas, United States of America. She spent her childhood in Norman, Oklahoma, where her family had moved when she was quite young.

After completing high school, she enrolled at ‘Price College of Business’ at the ‘University of Oklahoma.’ Though Shannon wanted to come out as lesbian at a young age, she procrastinated as she wasn’t sure how her family and friends would react to the truth.

She later said in one of her interviews that some of her friends at school would express homophobic views citing religious beliefs, which further deterred her from saying the truth. She went on to say that people often say things just for the sake of it and that she is still friends with those who had spoken against LGBT community.

She started writing about her feelings on Tumblr, which eventually helped her speak. She also wrote a personal letter to her father, explaining her sexuality to him. Her coming out story inspired many and soon, Shannon found herself surrounded by a number of fans and followers.

Many of her fans started reaching out to her and told her that she had inspired them in many ways. They also urged her to come up with a YouTube channel of her own in order to inspire others.

Despite having no plans of creating a YouTube channel, Shannon was forced into creating one as her fans thought her YouTube channel would benefit thousands of others who might still be struggling to come out.

Shannon created her YouTube channel on August 27, 2009, along with her then girlfriend, Camden Scott. She started off by posting a variety of videos, including many vlogs that documented her adorable relationship with her ex-partner.

With more than 603,000 subscribers and over 70 million views, Shannon’s YouTube channel is quite popular and represents the voice of the LGBT community. She has always maintained that the sole purpose of her channel is to truly connect with other members of the community.

Apart from inspiring a number of her fans and followers, Shannon’s YouTube channel also provides ample entertainment in the form of quirky challenges, hilarious queer slang talks, and dreamy travel vlogs.

Some of the most viewed videos on her channel include, ‘A Letter to You,’ ‘Why We Broke Up,’ ‘My Ex Called Me A Pillow Princess,’ ‘My Drunk Girlfriend,’ ‘Superkiss & Life Alone,’ ‘Our First Time,’ and ‘Girlfriend Tag.’ All these videos have gathered more than a million views each.
