Shantel Jackson Biography

Shantel was born Shantel Christine Jackson, on July 28, 1984, in Miami, Florida, US. Most of her adolescent years were spent in Miami. Shantel is the middle child of her parents and has four siblings. She is of mixed ethnicity and has African–American, American–Indian, and Caucasian origins.

Shantel displayed a keen interest in entertainment since her adolescent years. She would often participate in stage performances.

Shantel attended the 'Technical Arts High School.' Before graduating high school, she had learned a lot about the filmmaking process and all the relevant aspects of it, including screenwriting and editing. By the time Shantel completed school, she had become camera-friendly. She eventually got acquainted with the glamor and entertainment industry. Shantel later attended 'Miami Dade College' and the 'University of Miami,' where she studied psychology and acting.

Shantel began her career as a fashion model. She was quite young when she started her career in the field of modeling and acting. The experience and exposure she gained at school helped her a lot in making her mark in the industry. Shantel was featured in the video of the song 'Here Without You.' The track was from the album 'Away from the Sun' by '3 Doors Down,' an American rock band. The song was released on August 11, 2003.

Shantel modeled for the popular hip-hop journal 'XXL.' In 2012, she appeared as ‘Tanisha’ in the direct-to-video crime-drama film 'Freelancers.’ Following this, she was seen in two episodes of the reality show 'Nellyville.' Shantel was cast as ‘Jackie’ in the 2016 action short film 'Supply and Demand.' Shantel played a character named ‘Ashley’ in the short drama film 'Good Riddance,' which released in 2016. In 2017, Shantel was part of 'The Platinum Life,' a reality TV show about the wives of famous musicians.

Shantel made a guest appearance in the 'MTV' comedy clip show 'Ridiculousness.' She also made a brief appearance in the sports documentary series 'HBO Boxing.' She has also appeared in music videos of songs such as 'Let's Get Away' by 'T.I.,' 'Stay Fly' by the 'Three 6 Mafia,' and 'Unpredictable' by Jamie Foxx.

Shantel currently owns a unisex clothing line that is available on her website, 'missjackson.com.' She also owns a product line named 'Shoe Gummi.' The brand offers tools to make walking with heels easier.

Shantel is known for her personal life more than her professional life. She was in a relationship with professional boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. They met for the first time in 2006, when Shentel was working as a hostess in Atlanta.

Shantel and Floyd dated for about 8 years before their relationship came to an unfortunate end. According to sources, Shantel and Floyd got engaged and were all set to walk the aisle. Unfortunately, that did not happen and they had an ugly break-up.

Floyd accused Shantel of having aborted their twin babies, as she was not ready to experience motherhood. He also claimed that Shantel, his then- fiancée, was concerned more about her career than their relationship. Floyd even went a step ahead and criticized Shantel through social-media platforms. Moreover, he also blamed Shantel’s blooming relationship with rapper Nelly for their break-up.

Shantel, on the other hand, accused Floyd of assault, defamation, and invasion of privacy. In December 2017, Floyd launched a counter-attack on Shantel by filing a civil complaint, accusing her of misusing his credit card. He claimed that Shantel would make purchases on his credit card and later have the items shipped to an unknown location to keep her tracks clean. According to sources, Mayweather had spent millions on gifts for Shantel when they were together. The list of his expensive gifts to Shantel includes a 17-carat diamond worth over $2 million, over 100 designer handbags, and several designer clothing items. He also gave her the cash gifts he earned for his boxing performances and even allowed her to use his credit card.

Shantel, however, appeared to be a supportive girlfriend. She stood by Floyd’s side when in 2012, he was imprisoned for a domestic violence case filed by his ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris. Shantel also changed her surname to “Jackson-Mayweather” on Floyd’s request. Sadly, soon after he was released from jail, Floyd attacked Shantel physically, for which she filed a case against him. She also accused Floyd of confiscating her belongings and breaching her privacy. Shantel accused Floyd of releasing her sonogram reports and sensitive medical information regarding her abortion all over social media.

Shantel is currently dating rapper Nelly. They confirmed their relationship in 2014. In 2017, Nelly was accused of raping a woman. Shantel supported Nelly throughout the case.
