Stephen always had a flair for creating sketch-comedy videos. As a child, he wanted to become a comedian. Stephen started his career on 'YouTube' at the age of 17. He created a channel in the first half of 2013 and posted his first video a year later. The video showed Stephen dancing and talking and was hilarious to watch. It caught the attention of many viewers, and Stephen was subsequently requested to post more comedy content. Soon, Stephen turned into a 'YouTube' comedian. Stephen mostly shoots his videos on his university campus.

Stephen has created comedy videos on several celebrities and social-media personalities. His videos often feature ways of becoming a celebrity, by mocking his/her mannerisms. He has named this segment of videos ‘How To.’ One of his most-viewed videos in this segment is 'How To Be Stormzy,' which has earned more than three million views. The video features Stephen mocking popular English rapper Stormzy. This has been Stephen’s favorite work to date. The ‘Grime Remix’ on Ed Sheeran’s 2017 hit track 'Shape of You' is the video Stephen found the most difficult to shoot. Some of his other videos with over a million views are 'Stephen Tries FC,' 'Badman Returns!,' 'How To Be The Chicken Connoisseur,' 'The Grime Scene Saviour (Little T Diss),' and 'How To Be The F2Freestylers.' The channel has over 536 thousand subscribers.

Stephen, along with the 'Sidemen,' a group of seven British "YouTubers," attended the ‘Upload Event’ in 2017. Stephen was in the guest panel of the event. He has also participated in a charity football match in 2018. Stephen’s 'Instagram' account has over 159 thousand followers, while his 'Twitter' account has over 292 thousand followers.

Stephen Tries was born Stephen Lawson, on July 9, 1995, in Norwich, England. He has a sister who provides him with all the costumes that he uses in his videos. Stephen later moved to St. Helens, a town in Merseyside, England.
