Sungha Jung is a South Korean guitar sensation who is extremely popular on YouTube. With over 4.5 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, he is now one of the very few South Korean celebrities who have made it big on the international social media scenario. His love for guitar comes from his father who played the instrument in his leisure time. His fascination with the guitar started when he was in third grade and the guitar was bigger than him. Sangha was attracted by the music the instrument created and his love soon turned into a passion. Now, as a young man, he has evolved into a true guitarist. His scintillating cover of the theme song of ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean,’ in which he used the fingerstyle technique, has impressed his fans worldwide. Sangha’s fan list includes big names like Yoko Ono, John Lennon’s widow, who often browses his YouTube channel to listen to his fascinating music. World famous guitarists Thomas Leeb, Martin Taylor, Ulli Boegershausen, and Kotaro Oshio are his inspirations. This stylish icon spends a good amount of time learning English in addition to practicing guitar as he knows that this language would help him communicate better in future. The sea and dolphins are his favourite themes, and thus his official blog is named ‘Bluesea’ and is managed by his father. Despite achieving much success at this young age, he remains shy and humble and objects to be termed as a “Guitar Prodigy.” He wants to explore the chorded instrument more to become a pro and has big ambitions for the future.
