Tamara Taylor made her acting debut on television by appearing in an episode of the 1991 series ‘A Different World’. She then appeared as Grace Wilcox in the series ‘Party of Five’. In the year 1998, she got featured in the TV program ‘Dawson's Creek’. The same year, she made her debut on big screen through the flick ‘Senseless’. Soon after this, Taylor acted in the TV movie ‘Introducing Dorothy’ and dramas ‘Early Edition’ and ‘Providence’.

After this, she was offered the role of Dr. Ana Syphax in ‘City of Angels’. In 2002, she did the series ‘Hidden Hills’. Then till 2005, the Canadian actress did a number of big screen and small screen projects, such as ‘Diary of a Mad Black Woman’, ‘Serenity’, ‘The District’, ‘Six Feet Under’, ‘CSI: Miami’, ‘Lost’, and ‘Sex, Love & Secrets.’ After this, she was offered the dramas ‘Numb3rs’ and ‘3 lbs’.

During that time, Taylor also joined the cast of the forensic crime series ‘Bones’ as Dr. Camille Saroyan. She then played the role of Karen in the film ‘Gordon Glass’ in 2007. Four years later, she acted in the film ‘Shuffle’. In 2015, Taylor worked in an episode of the series ‘Hell's Kitchen’ and ‘Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles’ as well as in three episodes of the drama ‘Hunt the Truth’. During that year, she also lent her voice to the character of Wonder Woman for ‘Justice League: Gods and Monsters’ and acted as Andrea Moore in the movie ‘Reluctant Nanny’. In 2017, Taylor had a recurring role in the television series ‘Altered Carbon’. She played the role of Oumou Prescott in the series.
