Career
His first credited role was in the 1993 television movie 'A Place to Be Loved.'
Guiry started his acting career as a promising child artist. He made his feature-film debut in 1993, at the age of 12, playing the character ‘Scotty Smalls' in the movie 'The Sandlot.' The coming-of-age comedy movie became a cult hit and launched his career. The same year, he appeared in the film 'Shattered Family’ (also known as ‘A Place to Be Loved’ in the U.K.), playing the role of 'Gregory Kingsley.'
The following year, he returned with another successful movie, 'Lassie,' portraying 'Mathew Turner.'
In 1995, he played the role 'Christopher Millard' in 'The Four Diamonds.’ The movie was an adaptation of a fantasy tale created by the late Christopher Millard, which was inspired by his life and his struggle with cancer (which eventually took his life).
The next year, he appeared as 'Jonathan Lyle' in the direct-to-video movie 'The Last Home Run.'
In the 1998 Canadian–American comedy film 'All I Wanna Do,' he portrayed ‘"Frosty’ Frost.' The movie was released in Canada and the U.K. under the title ‘Strike!' However, the original title of the film was 'The Hairy Bird,' and it was released under this title only in Australia. The same year, he appeared as 'Pete' in the drama movie 'Wrestling with Alligators.' That year, he also debuted on TV, playing 'Kevin Stanton' in an episode of the American police procedural 'Law & Order,' titled 'Bait.'
He was cast in the American revisionist Western film ‘Ride with the Devil,' as 'Riley Crawford.’
As the new century dawned, he appeared as a man in uniform in a few movies. Two such characters were those of 'Seaman Ted' Trigger' Fitzgerald' in the 2000 submarine film 'U-571' and 'Private Cantwell' in the American war drama film 'Tigerland.' In 2000, he was also seen as 'Norman Fermoyle' in the American comedy movie 'Songs in Ordinary Time.'
In 2001, he was seen as 'Sgt. Ed Yurek' in the critically acclaimed and multiple-‘Oscar’-winning American war movie 'Black Hawk Down.' The same year, he appeared as 'Malcolm Duncan' in 'Scotland P.A,' a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Macbeth.'

In 2002, he portrayed the dual characters ‘Gavin Sipes' and 'Nikolai Rosovitch' in an episode of the American crime-drama series 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,' titled 'Disappearing Acts.’ That year, he also appeared in an American TV film called 'We Were the Mulvaneys,' as 'Judd Mulvaney.'
In 2003, he appeared as 'Perry Foley' in 'The Mudge Boy' and as 'Brendan Harris' in the neo-noir mystery drama 'Mystic River.'
After a break of more than a year from TV, he made his comeback with the legal drama series 'The Jury, appearing as 'Carl Donner’ in the episode 'Memories.' He was also seen as 'Gerry Sykes' in the TV drama movie 'Strip Search.'
He was seen as a high-school bully in 'Strangers with Candy’ (2005), as 'Michael "Little Man" McCarthy' in the film 'Bristol Boys' (2006), and as 'Marcus Randolph' in an episode of the police-procedural series 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent,' titled 'The Good.'
He appeared as 'PJ Lee' in 'Steel City (2006),' as 'Terry McKay’ in 'Black Irish' (2007), and as 'Bob' in 'Prisoner’ (2007).
In 2007, Guiry auditioned for the lead role of 'Thomas "Tommy" Donnelly’ in the American drama TV series 'The Black Donnellys.' However, he was selected for another lead character, 'James "Jimmy" Donnelly,' and was cast in 13 episodes.
In 2008, he appeared as 'Joe Jr.' in the America drama film 'Yonkers Joe' and as 'Ryan Emerson' in an episode of 'Law & Order,' titled 'Misbegotten.'
The following year, he appeared in an episode of the American police-procedural drama 'CSI: Miami,' titled ‘Head Case,' and in two episodes of the drama series 'Kings,' titled 'Judgment Day’ and 'Insurrection.’
The year 2011 saw him appear as 'Danny Wilson’ in the crime thriller 'The Bandit' and as 'Ken Harbert' in the pilot episode of the police procedural 'Unforgettable.'

In 2012, he appeared as 'Cyril Fitzgerald’ in the comedy–drama 'The Fitzgerald Family Christmas.'
In 2013, he appeared as 'Brent Garvey' in an episode of the police procedural 'Elementary,' titled ‘Dead Man's Switch.' The following year, he appeared as 'Stewart' in the movie 'Mahjong and the West.' In 2015, he portrayed 'Billy Brother Trapper' in the critically acclaimed and commercially successful film 'The Revenant.'
In the 2016 film 'Culling Hens,' he was seen as 'William.'
The following year, he appeared in an episode of the legal drama 'Chicago Justice,' titled 'Fool Me Twice,' and in three movies: ‘Brawl in Cell Block 99,' 'Wonder Wheel,' and 'Sollers Point.'
His next project, 'Roe v. Wade,' in which he will be seen portraying 'James T. McHugh,' is in the post-production stage.
