Career as a Gamer on Social Media

TommyInnit began his stint as a gamer with a YouTube channel when he was 12. He had named the channel ChannelNutpig. However, he was often bullied by schoolmates for the unusual name of the channel. Thus, when he turned 13, he renamed it Tom. He then set his videos to private.

A year later, he began streaming on Twitch. By late 2018, he had started posting on Twitch regularly. He streamed Fortnite, PUBG, and Hypixel public parties (primarily Bed Wars).

He had launched the YouTube channel TommyInnit on December 24, 2015, but began posting on it regularly only in 2019. His first video was titled Guide to Lobby Spamming and was posted on September 9, 2018. He once said that the TommyInnit account was initially only an “alt” that he used to subscribe to ChannelNutpig.

By early 2019, Tommy had become a Twitch affiliate. Most of his fan base back then were Hypixel influencers.

On August 6, 2019, Tommy began posting Hypixel Skyblock cllips. His channel switched from following a video-type skit format to posting edited livestreams.

He soon became one of the fastest YouTubers, with his follower count rising from 4.8 thousand to 66 thousand within 2 months. It now has over 593 thousand subscribers.

After 3 months of Hypixel Skyblock uploads, TommyInnit began posting general content on Minecraft. Soon, he was invited to SMPEarth, a private SMP that featured many influencers. TommyInnit was also a member of Skeppy's SMP and AnothaSMP. He was also part of Blockworth season 2 till its end.

Tommy is also part of Dream Team SMP and L'Manburg. Tommy sometimes turns his livestreams, mostly those related to Dream Team SMP, into YouTube videos.

In September 2019, Tommy received a YouTube rank on Hypixel. He often creates videos with other Minecraft YouTubers such as Technoblade.

In some of TommyInnit’s videos, he plays Minecraft while hacking. He once created a video exposing The Archon server. Some of Tommy’s co-gamers are Tubbo, TimeDeo, Pigicial, Badlinu, darkleonard2, and RudyInnit.

He has participated in Minecraft championships, playing as part of teams such as Team Purple Pandas, Team Aqua Horses, Team Pink Parrots, Team Cyan Creepers, and Team Red Rabbits. He has teamed up with gamers such as Wilbur Soot, TheEret, Krinios, Sylvee, MiniMuka, Bitzel, CaptainPuffy, VoiceoverPete. Captainsparklez, CaptainPuffy, and Ph1lzA.

Tommy owns two other channels on YouTube, titled TommyOutit and TommyVODS. TommyOutit mostly hosts his stream highlights (similar to TommyInnit). The channel also hosted content from the series Blockworth, but Tommy later set the videos to private or deleted them. TommyVODS contains his VODS (videos on demand) and his unedited livestreams archived from Twitch.

Gaming Controversies

In 2018, while streaming on his Twitch channel, Tommy used "lobby spamming" to get more viewers on his live streams. Lobby spamming is the process of going into a Hypixel lobby full of players and posting a stream link and some clickbait, usually in the form of fake giveaways. Tommy and his friend Freddie (known by his pseudonym, Badlinu) created chat macros to help them with lobby spamming.

In late 2018, Tommy asked a server staff whether lobby spamming was allowed on the platform, and he said it was. In December 2018, TommyInnit was muted by a server staff for 7 days. The server staff also responded with an impolite comment after Tommy was muted. The staff later found out that Tommy had used macros for lobby spamming. Following this, Tommy was blacklisted completely.

However, Tommy later explained that a server staff had said that lobby spamming was allowed and also reported the rude comment made after he was banned. A Hypixel admin felt the whole situation had been blown out of proportion and approved Tommy’s appeal, allowing him to join Hypixel again. However, Tommy remained muted. He used the time to polish his editing skills.

On June 26, 2019, Tommy got banned due to his video the ranked skywars experience (handcam), in which he had joked about downloading the Vape Client. Hypixel admins banned him for 30 days for promoting cheats, even though Tommy claimed the video was a satire.

On April 27, 2020, he was in trouble due to his video i installed 13 minecraft hacked clients and did this... when people on the Hypixel forums noticed that it had broken Hypixel's YouTube ranking policy. People started a campaign against him. Tommy later clarified through a stream that Simon, the owner of Hypixel, had said his video was allowed since it had not started a hacking trend. Tommy has created countless videos on hacking since then, and none of them has been banned.

Trivia

In December 2019, Tommy’s school found out about his gaming channel on YouTube. Apparently, one of his teachers played one of Tommy’s videos on the reflector screen.

Back in 2018, his schoolmate Eryn’s sister, who also went to the same school, had already found out about his gaming videos and would often threaten Tommy, saying she would reveal the fact that he was a Minecraft YouTuber.

In April 2020, Tommy recalled how he was mocked in school and began supporting the hashtag campaign #SchoolIsOverParty.

He posts interesting “tweets” about drugs and women on Twitter.

In one of his streams, Tommy claimed he was cross-dominant and said he liked playing video games with his left hand while playing some other sport with his right hand.
