Wengie was initially just that regular corporate employee who had a routine 9 to 5 job, earning a handsome six-figure salary. She occasionally used to blog to let out her creative juices, but nothing for monetary purposes. However, to make a mark for herself in the world of videos was her dream that she just couldn’t ignore. On 9 September 2010, Wengie joined YouTube and bid adieu to her 9 to 5 job. She was serious about video-making and within a short span of time, her YouTube channel accumulated over a million subscribers. Her channel currently has 13.5 million subscribers. She also has two other channels, namely wengieofficial and LifeOfWengie which also have a huge number of followers. She says, “When I first started, I would have imagined hitting a million subscribers as being a sublime and surreal feeling. But it happened much like a birthday: you’re extremely excited, but on the actual day, you feel pretty much the same as you did yesterday.” She loves her fans and doesn’t miss a single opportunity to let them know exactly that. She personally feels that the day she quit her career to make a living on YouTube was the biggest decision of her life.

Wengie is a very level-headed girl, who has absolutely no airs about herself. She feels that the entire question of trying to be special has been “overrated.” In the words of this phenomenal YouTuber, “My first goal for my channel is to provide my audience with the best experience I can possibly give them—be it entertainment, education, or inspiration. That comes before my need to be unique or perhaps it does make me unique.” She is always trying to offer something new to her audience and loves to be at the top of the game always.

On 13 July 2017, she released her debut single titled Baby Believe Me. The single, which was released in China, debuted at number 11 on the Chinese music charts. On 10 July 2018, Wengie released her first English-language single, Cake. She then teamed up with Filipino singer Iñigo Pascual to release her first Filipino-language song Mr. Nice Guy on 4 May 2019. On 18 October 2019, she featured Minnie from K-pop group (G)I-dle on her first Korean-language song Empire. In November 2020, she released the song “Thing you want” in collaboration with singers ‘Ikka’ and ‘Shamali.’ The song won her the ‘Clef Music Award’ for ‘Best International Act in India.’

She next released singles like “Bitter,” “Trust Issues,” “Tight Rope,” “Ghost,” and “11:11.”

Wengie is a typical 21st-century girl whose life revolves around shopping and all the latest beauty products. She will happily live on instant noodles just so she can buy the latest handbags and the new products in the market. Wengie has a lot to say about her spendthrift attitude, she says that she has “spent over 10k in shoes in one month and wore $2 dresses.” Even though she owns one of the most subscribed channels in Australia, she has no airs about herself and still has dreams of an ordinary girl.

Wengie was born on 9 Jan 1986 in Guangzhou, China. While her name is Wendy Ayche, her fans fondly call her Wengie and even her main YouTube channel is named the same. Reliable sources claim that her Chinese name is Wen-Jie. She is also a huge fan of Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake and adores them to no end. On her wengieofficial channel, she has uploaded covers of the songs sung by these two celebrities. As far as her love life is concerned, Wengie was previously engaged to Max.
