Whynot_Joey started his social media career in 2015 with TikTok (then known as Musical.ly). He found success with his music videos and sketches. He collaborated with fellow TikTok stars, Bryce Hall and Loren Gray, for a video set to the Lena Del Rey song Young and Beautiful. He had earned over 1.5 million followers on TikTok before his TikTok account was disabled. Whynot_Joey is also popular on Instagram where he has a fan following of over 400,000. 

Whynot_Joey was born Joey Kisluk on January 6, 2000, in Connecticut. He has two brothers, Dan Kisluk and Justin Kisluk. His brother, Dan Kisluk, is a firefighter. Joey was in a relationship with Ariella Matarazzo. They dated in 2018. Previously, Whynot_Joey was in a relationship with fellow social media stars, Layla Atiles and Loren Gray. In 2020, he began dating Paige Elissa.
