Manhattan-based singer-songwriter Wolftyla is a pioneering independent artist who combines her love for R&B with retro sounds and hints of K-Pop. She first went viral on Vine in 2014 and emerged into the music scene with her song Feels, which was uploaded on SoundCloud. She has since released her debut EP, Wolf in Color, in August 2020, featuring breakout hits such as All Tinted; the song has amassed over 9 million views on YouTube and more than 11 million streams on Spotify to date. Her unique sound, in addition to her down-to-earth personality and character, has led to a strong, close-knit fanbase of over millions of followers.

Childhood & Early Life

Wolftyla was born on June 1, 1996 in Manhasset, New York and raised in Queens and Long Island. As a kid, Wolftyla was interested in art, poetry and dance. She was a point guard during her high school days. She was later enrolled at New York University in 2014 where she studied Sports Management.

Due to her popularity on social media from her comedic videos, she took a leave from the university and moved to Los Angeles to pursue music. In 2020, she then returned to the university to complete Bachelor’s degree in Music Business at NYU Steinhardt as a full-time student and musician.

Social Media Career

Wolftyla entered into the music industry by releasing her debut single, Feels, on SoundCloud. Her song became viral on the internet and has received over 10 million views to date. Following the release of her first single, she become a social media sensation–allowing her to amass followers quickly on platforms like Twitter, Instagram and Youtube.

Apart from posting official music videos and audios on her Youtube channel, she has also posted skincare routine, hauls, and tutorials, helping her channel to gather over 200,000 subscribers. Over the years, Wolftyla has gathered a huge following across multiple social media platforms; she has more than 1.5 million followers on Instagram and over half a million on Facebook independently.

Musical Career

Lauded by industry favourites like BLACKPINK’s Rosé and BTS’ V, Wolftyla has worked on hit titles including Megan Thee Stallion’s Simon Says and Ella Mai’s How featuring Roddy Ricch. On top of her independent music, Wolftyla has collaborated with Riot Games’ League of Legends on the tracks THE BADDEST and DRUM GO DUM for its virtual pop group, K/DA. On her debut, she collaborated with artists such as OVO’s Roy Wood$ and rapper Jay Park.

Other Major Works

Aside from releasing musical works and songwriting, Wolftyla has entered partnerships with brands such as YSL Beauty, Ellesse and more. In 2021 she launched her own high- end brand called “Wolf Members Only” that focuses on blending minimalism and comfort.

Personal Life

Wolftyla is half Korean and half African-American. Her mother was born in Seoul, Korea. Wolftyla once posted a photo of her mother on her Instagram page and thanked her for all her sacrifices. Wolftyla also owns a Siberian husky named “Cartier King”. We are yet to see an official relationship publicized by the singer herself.
