Zandy Reich Biography

Long before his relationship with Lea Michele became the talking point of tabloids, Zandy Reich had made a reputation as a sportsperson. Starting with baseball as a child, he began playing lacrosse while in the sixth grade after being convinced to give it a try by one of his teachers, who coached Philadelphia’s professional indoor lacrosse team, The Wings. Lacrosse soon replaced baseball as the game he was most interested in, alongside basketball and soccer, which made his high school triple-varsity sport line-up. Thanks to his performance in lacrosse, both University of Pennsylvania and Dartmouth College actively sought to recruit him to their rosters. He went on to join Penn, and for the next four years, developed leadership and teamwork skills on the field as the tri-captain as an undergraduate student. He was treated like a role model by the younger generations who respected his ability to handle situations. He later used his leadership skills starting with his two-year stint at Goldman-Sachs following his graduation. Nevertheless, it is only after his relationship with Michele was revealed in July 2017 that he became a celebrity in his own right. A private person, he likes to stay away from media attention most of the time. However, he does make occasional appearances on Michele's social media feeds, especially on her Instagram account on special occasions like birthdays, holidays, and Valentine's day as well.

Zandy Reich was born on January 23, 1983 in Philadelphia, United States. He completed his graduation with a degree in Finance from University of Pennsylvania’s prestigious Wharton School of Business in 2005. He had been involved in sports since he was young and was the captain of the men’s varsity lacrosse team as an undergraduate student. Describing college to be the best four years of his life, he mentioned to 'Penn Athletics' how proud he was about the job he had done for his college team.

According to 'People', Zandy Reich was first linked romantically with actress and singer, Lea Michele, in July 2017 after they were spotted holding hands in New York City following a lunch date. However, the report also mentioned that they have been friends for a long time prior to that, even though they began dating recently. In an interview with the publication in November that year, Michele credited Reich for helping her stay focused and also expressed that she was happier than ever with him. The actress previously dated late Canadian actor and her 'Glee' co-star Cory Monteith, 'iZombie' star Robert Buckley, and dating coach Matthew Paetz.

While Reich did not have a public social media account, media outlets were able to track the new couple thanks to Michele’s occasional posts on Instagram featuring him alongside her. Michele, who has a strong working relationship with screenwriter, director, and producer Ryan Murphy since her time on 'Glee', reportedly took his "seal of approval" before finalizing her relationship with Reich.

On April 29, 2018, Michele posted a picture of herself on the beach with her hand covering her face and showcasing a diamond ring. She captioned the picture with the sole word "yes", accompanied by a ring emoji, to reveal to the world that she and Reich had become engaged. Her representative later confirmed the engagement stating that he proposed to her with a "4-carat elongated radian cut ring". According to a report on 'People', Reich had the engagement ring designed especially for her by Leor Yerushalmi and The Jewelers of Las Vegas. They are expected to tie the knot soon, even though the exact date has not been revealed yet.
