Donovan Phillips Leitch, known as Donovan, is a Scottish musician, songwriter, and record producer. Emerging from the British folk scene in 1965, he achieved international success with hits like "Sunshine Superman," "Mellow Yellow," and "Hurdy Gurdy Man." Collaborating with producer Mickie Most, he released popular albums and singles. Donovan's influence extended to artists like the Beatles, teaching John Lennon guitar techniques. Despite criticism in the 1970s, he experienced a career revival in the 1990s and continues to create music, earning inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame.
