Hans Järta was a Swedish administrator, revolutionary, and philosopher known for his role in the Coup of 1809 and drafting the 1809 constitution of Sweden. He served as County Governor of Kopparberg County from 1812 to 1822. Järta's liberal-conservative philosophy earned him the nickname "Sweden's Edmund Burke". He began his career as a minor official for the royal administration, later becoming a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1828. Järta advocated for a more democratic form of government and renounced his noble rank in 1800.
