Rocco Granata is an Italian-Belgian accordionist, singer, and songwriter. He is best known for his songs Manuela / Marina which he released as a single in 1959. The B-side of the record became an international hit and sold over a million copies in Germany alone. Granata also received a gold disc for Marina. His life inspired the 2013 movie Marina.
French figure painter, educator and theorist Jules Joseph Lefebvre achieved important milestones in his career including winning the Prix de Rome for his The Death of Priam painting; becoming recipient of Légion d'honneur; and member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts. He also served as professor at the Académie Julian. Two of his famous students were Félix Vallotton and Fernand Khnopff.
