Female Ski Jumpers

One of the world’s most successful ski jumpers, Maren Lundby is an Olympic gold medalist and a 2-time World Champion. The Norwegian sports star was also the world’s second female ski jumping Olympic champion. She stunned her fans by withdrawing from the 2022 Winter Olympics for weight issues.

Austrian ski-jumper and footballer Daniela Iraschko-Stolz, counted among most-successful female-athletes of ski-jumping, holds ski-flying world-record since 2003 as the first and till-present only-woman to fly over 200 metres. Her feats in ski-jumping includes three individual-victories at Holmenkollen Ski Festival, winning women's Continental Cup, and silver at 2014 Winter Olympics. In football, she became Austrian Cup finalist twice with Wacker Innsbruck. 

Johanna Bassani was an Austrian combined ski jumper and Nordic skier. After starting her career at the age of 12, Bassani went on to establish herself as an important skier and made it to the national team in 2020 when she was selected to take part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships. However, she committed suicide at age 18.

Retired Norwegian ski jumper Anette Sagen is mostly known for her bronze win at the 2009 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. She is also a 3-time Continetal Cup winner and won her first World Cup in 2013. She made headlines when she wasn’t allowed to jump K-185 in Vikersund even after performing well.

Nika Kriznar is a Slovenian ski jumper best known for winning a gold and bronze medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. She also won a silver and bronze medal at the 2021 World Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany. 

Ema Klinec is a Slovenian ski jumper who won the gold medal in the women's individual normal hill competition at the 2021 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, becoming the first Slovenian female ski jumper to do so. In the same World Championships, Ema Klinec also won the silver medal in the team normal hill competition.

Špela Rogelj is a Slovenian former ski jumper best known for winning a silver medal at the 2021 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany. Rogelj started her career by competing in the FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup before proceeding to represent her country at World Cup level. Špela Rogelj announced her retirement in 2022.

Silje Opseth is a Norwegian competitive ski jumper best known for winning a silver and bronze medal at the 2021 World Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany. She had earlier won a bronze medal at the 2019 World Championships in Seefeld, Austria. Silje Opseth also represented her country at the 2018 Olympics where she finished 16th in the normal hill individual event.

Maja Vtič is a Slovenian professional ski jumper who achieved popularity when she won the national ski jumping competition in 2011. She has also competed for Slovenia in prestigious tournaments like the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and FIS Ski Jumping World Cups, placing fifth at the 2011 World Championship.
