Yulia Lipnitskaya stunned her fans with the news of her retirement at the tender age of 19. Apparently, she had been struggling with injuries and anorexia. The Russian professional figure skater won an Olympic gold at 15, thus becoming the youngest Russian gold medalist in history.



Though born to an actor, Aleksandr Demyanenko initially studied music and also failed in his entrance exams to the Moscow Art Theatre. He later dropped out of law school to eventually focus on acting. He went on to immortalize the character Shurik, which he played in multiple movies, such as Kidnapping, Caucasian Style.










Icelandic singer-songwriter and indie-musician Ólöf Arnalds gained-attention with her debut- album Við Og Við that found place among Paste Magazine's Top 100 Albums of 2007 and eMusic's editor's list of Best Albums of 2008. Moving on, she released other albums like Innundir Skinni and Sudden Elevation of which the latter marked Arnalds’ first album that was sung entirely in English.
