Nicole Mitchell Murphy is an American former model, businesswoman, and an actress who was once married to popular actor Eddie Murphy. As a model, Nicole Murphy has been represented by the New York City-based company The Ford Modeling Agency. She was the face of many top brands, including Chanel, Valentino, and Ungaro during her hey days as a model. A much sought-after and popular face, she modeled at fashion shows across Europe’s fashion capitals when her career was at its peak. Also an actress, Murphy appeared in the short film titled ‘Shut the Fuck Up’. She was the host of the reality television series ‘Global Beauty Masters’ in 2014. Mitchell Murphy began her modeling career at the age of thirteen. A few months later, she participated in an international modeling contest which she won. She then signed with the American international modeling agency, the Ford Modeling Agency. Murphy eventually joined the Paris-based top agency, Glamour Models.
She has since represented many top brands like Yves St. Laurent, Chanel, Valentino, and Ungaro. Murphy has walked on the ramp for prominent fashion houses in Europe’s fashion capitals. After a few years of being a model, she left the industry to start her jewelry line named ‘FLP (Friendship, Love and Peace) by Nicole Murphy’. She is the CEO of the jewelry company which is based in Los Angeles, California.
Besides modeling and managing her business ventures, Murphy has also appeared in a number of television shows. She first appeared in the reality television show ‘The Contender’ in 2005. She appeared in the 2009 short horror film titled ‘Shut the Fuck Up,’ directed by Ian Lawton. The short film featured Steve Wilson and Tom O'Leary alongside her. She was also the host of the reality TV show ‘Global Beauty Masters’ in 2014.

Nicole Mitchell Murphy was born in Sacramento, California, on January 5, 1968 as Nicole Ronnette Mitchell to a British mother, Ellen, and an African American father, Eddie T. “Mitch” Mitchell, who was a United States Air Force pilot. She has three brothers, Trevor, Nathan, and Darius. Her parents separated when the children were young.
Nicole met actor Eddie Murphy at an NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) Image Awards show in 1988. The two started dating and soon decided to live together. After almost two years of living together, the couple tied the knot. The marriage took place at The Plaza Hotel in New York City in a grand celebration in 1993. The couple has five children, four daughters, Bria L. Murphy, Shayne Audra Murphy, Zola Ivy Murphy, and Bella Zahra Murphy, and a son, Myles Murphy. After 12 years of marriage, she filed for divorce citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ with Eddie Murphy. The divorce was finalized on April 17, 2006, almost ten months after she first initiated the proceedings.
